We create writing recesses and offer tools to help humans write better stories and live their best stories. Partnering with organizations that specialize in helping people we have brought our interactive writing classes to all sorts of people and places. Most of the people in our classes are in desperate need of a break from life and some encouragement to get unstuck creatively, mentally, and emotionally.
We have taught classes for:
- Veterans and Veteran Caregivers
- People who are experiencing homelessness
- At-risk youth
- Humans who are incarcerated
- Counselors wanting to add writing to their practices to help clients
- People struggling with mental health and addiction
- Artists, authors, and creators that were stuck or to stressed out to create
Tessa Jacobs
Tessa was a seeker, healer, and teacher. She used food, movement, and laughter for healing the mind, body, and spirit. Through her journey she achieved sobriety, and earned a degree in plant-based medicine. She also found medicine in traveling the world, seeking adventure and loving nature, and her heart was to share it with others. She believed passionately in the individual responsibility for self-care and caring for others.
While she was out for a walk in 2018 and less than a mile from home Tessa was struck and killed by a distracted driver that had been drinking.
TnT Healing exists and is made possible by the powerful and courageous ways she chose to live and love this work.
Travis Jacobs
I had lived much of my life trapped inside a severely depressed mind, frozen with the anxiety that buzzed out of control in my body. I filled those wounds with addictions that nearly took my life. The chaos of my choices, my environments, and the things I had done or had been done to me had taken their toll on every area of my life.
I came to a point where I refused to continue living a self-imposed prison sentence. I wanted to know what it felt like to heal and live a life I could be content with. I became a seeker of people, programs, and practices who had real answers and who offered real medicine. I found these healers and healing in all sorts of incredible places.
I realized at every intersection of my journey that writing and storytelling have brought me healing, contentment, and connection where I couldn’t find it anywhere else.
